Dianne Miranda

PointCookDance teachers are qualified dance professionals with a real love of dance. Their combined energies and creativity are what makes PointCookDance a great place to learn dancing. The teaching team supports a positive attitude towards learning; has an approachable, friendly manner; and stays relevant by attending regular classes, workshops and in-service seminars. This ensures their expertise in both traditional techniques and up to the minute trends.

Dianne Miranda

Senior Dance & Drama Teacher

Dianne became involved in the performing arts at a young age and began with singing. She later found a passion for dancing and she trained in Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lyrical, Latin American, Tap, Character dance and Zumba. In 2009 Dianne completed components of the Diploma of Dance Teaching & Management at Box Hill TAFE. In 2011, Dianne gained a Certificate 3 in Group Fitness and Senior First Aid at the Australian Institute of Fitness. She taught Zumba at PCD for 4 years. In 2012 she completed 6 months of the Full Time Performing Arts Course at Patrick’s Studios Australia. In 2016, Dianne trained in a double Diploma of Elite Dance Performance and Musical Theatre at The Space School Of Performance Arts under the direction of Adam Wheeler & Sara Grenfell.

In 2017 she took a different direction and started to pursue acting and attending The National Theatre in St Kilda to commence her Advanced Diploma in Acting (Screen & Stage).After many years of training and experience, Dianne got accepted into a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Acting at Melbourne University’s Victorian College of the Arts, and will graduating at the end of 2020.

Dianne has featured in a few video clips, commercials, modelled and performed for live performances for The Cat Empire, The Melbourne University ‘Where Ideas Collide’, Juice Plus+, and for The Space SOPA advertising campaign to name a few. She has performed in The Melbourne Fringe Festival 2015 – 2016 seasons as a performer and choreographer.

This will be her 12th year teaching at PCD. Her collaboration with Miss Beth to create a unique Singing & Drama curriculum gives them the freedom to share their knowledge and creative licence. The highlight for them is working with the students to produce end of term shows.

Dianne considers PCD as her second home, and she loves to share her passion for creativity, innovation and collaboration with her students, where she is immersed and embraced by the PCD community.
