PointCookDance Policies

PointCookDance provides dance tuition for students aged 3 years and over. Students can attend either on a recreational basis, or aspire to higher goals by building a solid foundation towards a career in dance.
Every student is an important member of PointCookDance and is given the opportunity to accelerate their dance development through:
• Limited class sizes
• Honest and fair assessment
• Participation in community performances, annual concerts, exams, master classes, workshops, private lessons and competitions (all optional)
• Achievement awards and scholarships.
• PointCookDance is committed to maintaining a strong presence, both locally,and also within the wider dance community so that students feel they’re part of something worthwhile.

Students of PointCookDance are expected to:

• Attend every dance class leading up to an assessment,               competition or performance
• Notify PointCookDance regarding absences
• Abide by the PointCookDance Behaviour Policy
• Behave in a manner appropriate to a group learning environment
• Show respect toward teachers and other members of the class
• Arrive before the commencement time for class
• Be dressed and ready before entering the class
• Wear correct uniform
• Be neatly groomed with shoulder length or longer hair tied back in     a ponytail for:Jazz and Jazzfunk, Tap, Hip-Hop, Combination and Contemporary; or a bun for Classical Ballet
• Remove jewellery before dance class
• Bring a filled water bottle to dance class
• Turn off mobile phones during class

Students are not permitted to leave the studio without:

• A parent or carer
• Permission of a parent or carer, or
• The knowledge of a representative of PointCookDance. Viewing of dance classes is limited to:
• A new student’s first class
• Open Days

Parents

• Please read all newsletters, notices and emails.
• Check the notice board regularly.
• No photography or video of classes without the teacher’s permission and a signed release form for each student.
• We are always happy to discuss issues with parents, but ask that parents ring or email the office outside class hours so we can give you our full attention while maintaining the integrity of the class.
• Please collect students promptly at the end of class.
• Please note that we do not offer child-minding services.

Fees

• Are due week 1 of each term.
• Must be paid in advance of dance classes.
• The first 15 students to pay are guaranteed a place in the class.
• Consecutive terms must be paid in full to retain a place in the class.
• Payments should follow the Fee Structure as set out in the PointCookDance brochure.
• Early Bird discounts (for future use) apply until midday of the last day of the term prior.
• TERM FEE applies to fees received by PointCookDance before midday on the 4th Saturday of each term.
• ADMIN CHARGE applies to fees received by PointCookDance after midday on the 4th Saturday of term and includes an administration fee of $10.00.
• Students are enrolled once the term fee has been paid and the completed Enrolment Form has been received by PointCookDance.
• There are no refunds or concessions for; occasional classes missed, change of mind, family holidays, etc.

New Students

• Once a new student has participated in dance classes for 2 consecutive weeks, PointCookDance will assume that the parents of the student have accepted the PointCookDance guidelines, and agree to pay the pro-rata term fee in advance; and that the student will be enrolling for the remainder of the term.
• Enrolment is confirmed upon the return of a signed enrolment form and correct fee payment.
